MoPOP's Hendrix: Bold as Love Birthday Bash celebrates the life, legacy, and birthday of Seattle superstar Jimi Hendrix with a day of special programming. The immersive lineup includes a 2:00pm screening of the new documentary Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision; a conversation with Jimi's sister Janie Hendrix; "Shred like Jimi" photo op, and hands-on music and art throughout the museum.

Abramorama and Quad Cinema present the official North American Theatrical premiere of the new film Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision on August 9, 2024. The critically acclaimed, full-length documentary Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision chronicles the creation of the studio, rising from the rubble of a bankrupt Manhattan nightclub to state-of-the-art recording facility inspired by Hendrix's desire for a permanent studio. Produced by Janie Hendrix, George Scott and John McDermott and directed by McDermott, the film features exclusive interviews with Steve Winwood, Experience bassist Billy Cox, and original Electric Lady staff members who helped Hendrix realize his dream. The documentary includes never-before-seen footage and photos as well as track breakdowns of Hendrix classics such as "Freedom," "Angel," "Dolly Dagger" by recording engineer Eddie Kramer.

Located a mere 5 blocks away from Electric Lady Studios, this special premiere event during the August 9, 7:00pm showing includes a post-screening Q&A session with director & co-producer John McDermott, co-producer & President/CEO of Experience Hendrix, L.L.C. Janie Hendrix, and legendary producer & engineer Eddie Kramer.
